Materials Used in Our Cabinets
All of our cabinets are 100 percent maple, which we kind of like to think of as the “granite of wood.” Maple is one of the best woods you can use for cabinetry—it’s harder than oak, birch, or pine, making it extremely durable, and its smooth grain and non-porous surface means that it can hold the the hues of lacquers, paints, or finishes extremely well. And the interesting texture of the grain—like the natural variation in a granite slab—makes for beautiful organic design.
Choosing natural hardwood cabinets will increase the value of your home and add lasting appeal that will never go out of style. One of the primary advantages of real wood cabinetry is that it’s been the standard of excellence for hundreds of years—synthetic or composite materials just can’t compete with the strength, integrity, and elegance of hardwood. And choosing the same installer for both your cabinets and countertops not only means that you’ll be able to coordinate the projects better, but you’ll wind up with a more cohesive result.
